top 16 of 2016
what a year 2016 has been. so many sad things have happened and it truly breaks my heart to have lost so many people and to have witnessed so much anger in the length of one year. we will never forget those who lost their lives this year, and continue to keep their memories, legacies, and beliefs alive as we enter 2017.
one thing i especially want to work on this year (and the many coming years) is remaining positive and uplifting. i found that many of the events that occurred this year, whether it was internationally or personally, left me feeling a bit sad and hopeless. i think a lot of it had to do with the stress of trying to get into college, so now that that's over (over the moon excited and beyond thankful that i actually got accepted into new york university, where i'll be studying in london freshmen year!!) it will be a lot easier for me to maintain a positive attitude. that being said, however, it is important for us to realize that we can still have a happier outlook even in the saddest of times, and that these times are the most important for us to try to see the brighter things. in a world that has become increasingly more selfish, greedy, and evil, it is up to us to remain giving, kind, and thoughtful, and sharing this kind of attitude with others. the news focuses a lot on the bad, so it is our job to try to focus on the good. :)
as the year comes to a close, i want to thank all of my friends and family for the continuous support and love. there are no words succifient enough to explain how much you mean to me.
and, as always, i want to list some of the best books i've read over 2016. though it was rough, there were also some major highlights this year (like the release of harry potter and the cursed child...i never thought i'd be able to go to a harry potter book premiere!) cheers to another year gone, and the hope that many more amazing books will find their way to my shelves!
